We are all still mourning the passing of our Dave Farris on 12/11/2012. The wonderful cards and letters of condolences from our clients keep coming in, and we are so very grateful for your heartfelt words. Dave’s wife, Renee, thanks you also.
Dave’s education was in marine biology. He loved nothing more than being in the great outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and running with his dogs, Tri-Tip, Chopper and Porter. He was a proud son, father, grandfather, and husband who was taken so …
Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance – The Car Show
Saturday, July 21st, 2012
Some of the great summer events in the Bay Area are upon us with wonderful car shows, auctions, races and more. One of the most famous auto events in our area is the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance that takes place Sunday, August 19th.
The Pebble Beach Auction presented by Gooding and Company on August 18th and 19th, 2012, will have a very special Mercedes up for public auction for the first time –the elegant, all black, 1936 Mercedes-Benz 540K Special Roadster–once owned by Baroness Gisela von Krieger of Prussia. The current owner (who is only the 3rd caretaker of the beautiful vehicle) commissioned a complete restoration and actually won the Best of Class honor in the 2004 Pebble Beach Concours ‘d …
The 42nd Annual “Duel at DeAnza” Event
Friday, May 13th, 2011
For all of you in the Bay Area that are interested in AutoCross racing, it’s that time of year!
The 42nd Annual “Duel at DeAnza” is being held this weekend in Cupertino at DeAnza College. The fact that his event has been held for 42 years to benefit the Automotive Technology School at DeAnza is amazing! It takes a lot of work to make this happen, so it’s always the teachers and the students that pull it all together.
National Car Care Month at The Driving Machine
Tuesday, March 15th, 2011
Wow. That one hour can really make a difference. The working day here seemed to be over so quickly due to the time change. I heard some medical sleep specialist this morning reminding us that we could be a little cranky today due to our body clocks being out of whack.
Well, no cranky people here today! We had lots of clients stopping in and taking advantage of the green treats that we will have all week. We are getting a jump on St. Paddy’s and also national Car Care Month, which begins in April 1.
BMW Oracle Americas Cup. Will it be in San Francisco?
Saturday, December 18th, 2010
San Francisco leaders could have another reason to celebrate this New Years Eve as the BMW Oracle Americas Cup location will be announced that day.
San Francisco has put its best offer on the table and now all we have to do is wait! The race has never been held in San Francisco, but was held in San Diego on 3 occasions. Reportedly, there are a few other locations that San Francisco is in competition with.
The vision of the BMW/Oracle logoed sails under the Golden Gate Bridge vying with other world contenders for the Cup would be a beautiful sight to behold.
It’s our turn! Keep fingers crossed.
Update: Mmmm…we will be wondering exactly what occurred for BMW to cease it’s eight year …

Giving Thanks to BMW
Monday, November 29th, 2010
We hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving holiday with friends and family. Was I the only one taking a moment to be “thankful and grateful” for my BMW?
Why not? It carries what is most precious in our lives. . . our loved ones, ourselves. It takes us to our work every day. It is probably the most expensive purchase you have made besides your home, (or maybe a private education). Our BMW lets us live! It takes us the beach or the snowy mountains, to our schools, to our holidays. Same can be said, of course, for our MINI. We love the fact that it’s a cute little car that merely sips …
Celebrating beauty and power on the Monterey Peninsula
Thursday, August 14th, 2008
Beginning today, August 14-17 on the Monterey Peninsula, car aficionados from all over the world converge for the what is considered to be the greatest gathering of collector and classic cars from around the world. Some of the main events this weekend are the Concorso, The Event at Quail, the Monterey Historic Races, (at Laguna Seca), and of course the famous Concours de’ Elegance at Pebble Beach. If you have ever taken in some of these events, you understand the thrill of seeing, (and sometimes hearing), row after row of special, gorgeous vehicles in pristine condition. It is pure, unadulterated, sensory overload!
Various auction houses are displaying and selling this weekend also. That’s a fun event if …
Dream racing. No, for real!
Sunday, May 25th, 2008
Sorry to leave everyone wondering why there were no posts for a week or so. We were at the Monaco Gran Prix, where BMW driver Robert Kubica took 2nd place to Hamilton and the McLaren Mercedes, with Massa driving a Ferrari trailing in third place. (OK, just kidding about being there!) It’s a dream to make it to the Monaco Gran Prix one of these days. But for now, the current technology on the Speed channel gave us thrills as never before. This was a heart stopping, exciting 2 hours of racing full of strategy and speed on both wet and eventually, barely damp, track. Due to rain slowing the event somewhat, they did not …
