Create your own car utopia with the Audi City
Tuesday, June 10th, 2014

Technology is moving into the space that was usually taken up by a hard-sell salesperson. Customize your very own Audi and experience your perfect auto in a virtual space. The Audi City, as it has been named, features massive LED Screens, floor to ceiling screens referred to as power walls. Using a multi-touch table you configure your perfect car (currently 49 models) and then experience every aspect of an Audi in 1:1 scale via the power wall. Configure your perfect Audi then actually “open the doors and sit inside”, as you would at your local dealership.

The “Gateway Benz” Targets a New Type of Mercedes Customer
Monday, December 23rd, 2013

Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!

For some, the $30,000 Mercedes-Benz CLA250 may be a car that has cheapened the luxury brand, but Mercedes sees it differently. This fuel-efficient car was designed for a younger crowd, who will, hopefully, grow into diehard Mercedes fans.
Younger purchasers aren’t just attracted to the relatively low price tag; the sleek, coupe-like car is equipped with a powerful, turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Autoweek reports that Mercedes sees the CLA becoming its number one conquest vehicle. Not only could its marketable design help compete with other luxury brands, like BMW and Audi, but the reduced price could attract consumers of traditional, midsize sedans, like Ford and Nissan.

There’s Carbon in BMW’s Future
Wednesday, December 11th, 2013

German-car manufacturing giant BMW is thinking forward with the introduction of its new, carbon fiber i3.

Source: Automotive News
German-car manufacturing giant BMW is thinking forward with the introduction of its new, carbon fiber i3. It hit consumer markets on Nov. 16 in Germany and will enter showrooms across the United States in the beginning of 2014.
If you walk into the BMW factory in Washington State today, there are thousands of fine, white threads laced around an almost mile-long course. These strands are stretched, toasted and then singed black to create carbon fiber. This hair-thin material is light yet tougher than steel, enhancing both safety and vehicle longevity.

California is a trend setter in automotive sales.

The automotive industry has seen a number of changes in the past decade. Among the most pronounced is the boom in safety-feature popularity.
Modern drivers, it seems, care just as much about safety as they do about luxury add-ons. Demand has spiked for safety equipment, such as side-curtain airbags, back-up cameras and electronic-stability control.

Several of the world’s top car manufacturers, including Toyota, BMW and Mercedes, have set their sights on the next big thing for the auto industry:  hydrogen. As it turns out, California is equally excited by the prospect of a new, cleaner way to power vehicles.Last week, Governor Jerry Brown signed into law Assembly Bill 8, the $2B “2013 Clean Fuels Reauthorization Act” authored by Assemblymember Henry T. Perea (D-Fresno) that would use existing fees on motor vehicles to fund the creation of 100 new, public hydrogen-fueling stations.

BMW Logo – burnt in your brain
Friday, December 17th, 2010

Wow. The hills are alive this morning with the sound of BMW and flash technology to literally burn the BMW image into viewer eyes/mind. Like was it a commercial? Or was it not? Or like some weird science project? Maybe both.
BMW produced a short film featuring the motorcycle racer, Ruben Zaus, that did not show the BMW name or logo anywhere in the film. But, when the audience was asked to close their eyes at the end of the film, they “saw” BMW.
