Racing without BMW
It’s been a few months since BMW announced that it is pulling out of Formula 1 racing. While not as popular in the U.S. as in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, some reports are predicting that because BMW has pulled out, the sport may lose even further cache with it’s audience. Daimler and Ferrari are still in the Formula 1 game, but without BMW. . who cares?
Actually, for years we have customers who ask us, why doesn’t “The Driving Machine have a race car”? The answer for us is pretty simple. We don’t expect our customers to be paying for us to be burning fuel, replacing parts, etc., in a race car. That can be some pretty expensive overhead, and we really don’t think you want to pay for that.
