Maintenance On BMW And Check Ups
Friday, March 16th, 2012

This is so cool, when a person comes in who is going to buy a pre-owned BMW and is actually planning on budgeting for maintenance. Seriously, we wish this was the norm, but it’s not.
You may never have thought about it, but your car is a “consumable”. As you drive, it is being “used up”. Yes, your gas, the oil, the rubber on your tires. Those are the things that most people think about. But, there are other parts in your car that are being worn just because they are being used on a daily basis. The CV boots, your brakes, brake fluid, transmission and it’s fluid, power steering pump and fluids, your battery, …

Cheap Brake Jobs
Tuesday, January 10th, 2012

It is amazing how many phone calls we receive and people just want to know the price of brakes. Nothing else, just the price. Not, “how good are they going to work?” “Are they BMW or Mercedes brakes? Is this what MINI recommends?” Just, “I think I need brakes – how much?” and “…the other shop told me it was only…..”
Have you really thought about the safety issues involved in stopping your BMW, your Mercedes or your MINI, (or any car)? Stopping may the the most important safety factor when it comes to getting you and your family safely from A to B, without an accident.

What To Do In Case Of Car Accident
Thursday, May 12th, 2011

People don’t think about all of the cool safety features that are built into your BMW or MINI. You just want to enjoy the road and forget about it! But, we are hearing reports that a lot of cars are being “totaled” by insurance companies rather than repair them. The expense to repair or in many cases replace crash parts is getting higher and higher every year. If you have a driving situation or accident that causes front end damage, one of those critical safety features may have to be replaced. This seems to be happening across all car makes, due to the electronics.
Because the newer designed autos are intended to absorb shock and even collapse, (one example is a …

You Are Safe Only In A Well-Maintained Car
Wednesday, May 4th, 2011

About 31 years ago back in the Mid West there was a horrific accident that killed a prominent TV newsman and his twin boys. A car (far) in front of him on the highway had a muffler that was almost falling off. It did fall off and wrapped around his axle. The car became airborne and crashed through the newsman’s windshield, killing him and his children immediately. Even more gruesome was the fact that his wife was following her husband in another car behind him. She witnessed her family dying because someone chose not to fix their car.
We may have touched on this before, but here it goes again! Don’t shoot the messenger, please.

Windshield Washer Fluid Illegal?
Tuesday, March 1st, 2011

Well, if you think that it is only certain catalytic converters cannot be sold in CA for your BMW, think again!
Would you believe that window washer fluid with anti-freezing agents cannot be sold here in Santa Clara County? That is correct. We can try to order this for our clients, (as we are helping to prepare their BMW for driving to Tahoe). As soon as we give our Zip Code, it is a “no-no”. That is right! Cannot ship to Santa Clara County due to the CARB laws.

Thursday, December 30th, 2010

Seriously, we wouldn’t believe it unless we actually experienced it! People are so very craaazy busy these days that they are running out of gas. OK. So what is the big deal? Well, they mistakenly think that something is really wrong with their car and it’s just plain ole “out of gas”. Whew! Saved some $$ there.

Safety Tips for Winter Driving
Thursday, December 30th, 2010

Many of our clients will be headed to Tahoe and the Sierra this Christmas weekend. Others are headed to Park City.
Whatever your cold weather destination be sure to carry an emergency kit with you. That includes a blanket, flashlight, and some emergency food like nutrition bars and water. If you do become stranded or stuck in stand still traffic, you might want to use your heater for about 10 minutes each hour.

The Importance of a Windshield on a BMW
Tuesday, October 26th, 2010

For those of you wanting to spiff up your car for the winter driving, don’t forget your BMW or MINI windshield.
If your windshield is chipped significantly, the cold weather, (think Tahoe) can make a chip turn into a crack in no time. The modern BMW’s windshield is not just protecting your cute face from bugs. It’s another part that plays a significant role in the structural integrity of your BMW or MINI’s body. When it comes to the BMW roadsters or the convertibles, that windshield is even more important to the body structural integrity.

BMW Recalls – Steering Problems
Thursday, September 30th, 2010

Recall -sshhhhmmmeeeeeee call. I will always love my BMW.
Maybe it’s due to the Toyota fiasco in dealing with the problems, but, it appears some car makers seem to be a little more on-board with getting the facts to NHTSA and dealing with all of it ASAP. There are a lot of recalls out there and it’s not just BMW’s, for sure.
Within a few days, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration should have more info on the recall by BMW of both BMW and Rolls Royce due to a leak in the power brake system. You will be able to go on their site and check the specifics for your BMW to see if it’s part of the recall.
