It’s hard to believe that the kids are going back to school and that summer is almost ended. Haven’t you noticed that the days are getting shorter? So, before we know it, winter driving will be here.

Be sure that your tires on your BMW are ready for the rainy season that will, (eventually), be upon us. Most tires manufactured today have wear indicators that appear as a bar across your tire. This is a tread wear indicator from the manufacturer to warn you that your tire is worn out! The bar appears with 2/32nds of tread remaining or less.

But, BMW recommends replacement at 3/32nds of tread depth. Effective tread life and water channeling are severely diminished, or non existent at 2/32nds of tread depth.

At the time of your tire replacement, you will also want to have your suspension components checked and a 4 wheel, weighted alignment, (as mentioned in a post on truth about suspension), to maximize tire wear, fuel efficiency and that great handling that your BMW is know for. Remember, proper mounting and balancing of your tires is just as important as that weighted alignment.

Have fun in your beautiful BMW while the sun is still shining!
