I mentioned the unfortunate leaking fuel hose scenario in a previous post. What I did not mention, is that as a part of your Smog Test beginning late Fall ’07, an EVAP test will have to be performed to prove that your vehicle has no leak. It has been determined by the State of California, that gas fumes are bad for the environment. Remember, when the gas stations had to get the new fume containment nozzles? Well, now it’s our turn for some new equipment.

But, there is more. The Bay Area Air Quality District is proposing that restaurants get some new filtering type equipment for charbroilers, that would keep the particulate matter down. Did you realize that your steak is causing some particulate matter in the air that is causing 1% of the problem that is our bad air! (How did you guess?)

See, this is good. I mean about making good choices, everyday, to help the environment. Maintain your BMW, eat less steak, clean the air! (What will they think of next?)
