If you have been driving or living near some of the wildfires and the affected areas, you may want to check the condition of the air filter in your BMW, MINI’s or other car. Yes, even if it’s not “time” for it to be checked.

Recently, we saw an air filter that was seriously full of what looked like burnt pine tree, particulate matter. It felt like it was covered with an oily substance and there were small chucks of wood, in the groove, and it was black! The fuel consumption was excessive and resumed to normal, (which is great as you MINI owners know), after replacing the dirty air filter. Yes, this car was perilously close to the fires and the subsequent particulate matter clogged that filter almost completely.

For so many people in our State, this has been a long treacherous fire season. It’s not over yet, and lets thank all of those hard working firefighters who are working almost 24/7, to combat these events.
