The Better Business Bureau has been deluged with complaints from consumers regarding auto extended warranty companies. According to the BBB, 2008 saw a huge increase in number of complaints about “questionble” or “worthless” extended warranties. These telemarketing tactics are relentless. There are days when the calls come in at home, on the cell phone, here at the business, (on all of the lines)! They “warn” you that your “warranty” is about to expire. It’s a bogus claim as they have no idea if how old your car is, what make it is, etc.. Unfortunately, people can easily fall prey to these “warnings”, thinking that they will come out ahead.

Just last week, we had one female client, stop by, expressing grave concern that “something must be wrong with my BMW”, because “some keeps calling and warning me about my warranty…”. We had to assure her, that her BMW was just fine, but, these guerrilla sales tactics are not.
