There was legislation passed in 1975 regarding Warranties. One of the results. It is illegal for a Dealership to imply that a Manufacturer’s Factory Warranty is “Void” if it is not taken back to the Dealership. It is called the Magnussen – Moss Warranty Act. A qualified technician can work on your car and it will not void the manufacturers Warranty. You can work on your car and it won’t void the Warranty. No offense, but you could damage something, (if you don’t know what you are doing), and that could void your Warranty. Qualified is the operative word here!

Remember also, that if you choose to do performance upgrades on your BMW or MINI, there may be special circumstances that can affect your Warranty. You’ll want to do your homework, (aka research), to determine what your options will be.

Happy Motoring!
